Education Assistance

Overview
Education assistance grants are available to Huna Totem shareholders and descendants to meet financial needs that remain after other financial resources have been exhausted.

Education Assistance awards will not exceed $2,000 during the calendar year. Students must seek scholarships from other agencies before applying for Huna Heritage Foundation assistance.

Education Assistance grants are awarded by the Board of Trustees after reviewing Selection Committee recommendations. Board of Trustee decisions are final.


Eligibility
  • You must be a Huna Totem Shareholder or descendant
  • You must have earned a high school diploma or GED certificate
  • You must be accepted and attending an accredited college or university for undergraduate or graduate studies. You may also be in an internship, apprenticeship, or taking on-the-job training
  • You must be a Full Time student taking at least nine semester hours or a Half Time student taking six semester hours and be in good standing with your school
  • You must first apply to other funding sources including other Native organizations and/or State and Federal agencies
  • Applications must include documents showing you meet the above requirements
